As a result of new challenges posed by fierce competition, an ever-changing labour market and digital transformation, Leonardo wanted to upskill their people leaders to respond more effectively to change.
Their ability to lead people and change were deemed vital for workforce engagement and development, as well as organisational sustainability.
Following the successful piloting of a Right Management development programme in Italy, Leonardo decided to roll the support out in the UK to help their leaders become advocates for change.
The solution
Key deliverables
The first step was to work very closely with Leonardo to localise the content in order to account for geographical nuances.
Each participant then undertook:
- Hogan change effectiveness questionnaire to understand their attitude to change
- Two expert-led change labs focused on leading oneself and leading others in times of change
- A half-day learning gym where leaders were coached by their peers to identify solutions to challenges and develop further action plans
Participant feedback:
“I learned new techniques for managing change.”
“I now understand the importance of emotional intelligence in leading change.”
The impact
- 100% of participants said the support has helped them set key goals for leading change
- 100% said the change lab has improved their ability to be an effective Change Agent at Leonardo
“In a time of great change I found this programme immensely useful. It opened my mind to all aspects associated with change thinking and theory, as well as looking at change from a personal perspective. I’ve had the opportunity to reflect on how I accept change and manage change with others and understand my strengths and weaknesses to enable my development relating to change.”
