Creating a coaching culture to support leaders

Home

In 2022, Arrow Global appointed a new Senior Executive who had previously only managed Associates but would now be responsible for managing a team of technical specialists. Therefore, they wanted to ensure their new Executive settled into their role quickly, could develop their skills on an ongoing basis and build strong relationships with their team members.

At the same time, they were looking to provide the rest of their leadership population with ongoing coaching support to drive their personal development and support with situations and workplace challenges as they arose.

This was all part of their wider ambition of creating a coaching culture that would support talent retention in a competitive landscape, and to provide ongoing development opportunities for leaders who could book coaching whenever they needed it.

The solution

Our remit of support covered three key areas:

Executive onboarding coaching – designed to help Arrow Global’s new leaders accelerate their integration into the organisation. The programme included psychometric assessment and feedback,.

Executive development coaching – providing a focused, highly personal development plan aimed at sustainably developing the leader towards greater effectiveness and impact in their role.

On-demand coaching – Each individual was provided with 3-6 coaching sessions to book on-demand, as and when required. Themes of the coaching sessions were:

  • Leading oneself, with a focus on communication, developing a personal brand, navigating change and building resilience.
  • Leading others, with a focus on building trust, enhancing team performance, and growing talent through mentoring.
  • Leading the organisation, with a focus on thinking strategically, fostering innovation, transforming the business culture and championing diversity.

The impact

Arrow Global leaders have been utilising coaching on an ongoing basis, fostering their continued growth and development. This dedicated investment has enabled leaders to refine their strategic thinking, enhance decision-making capabilities, and build stronger, more effective teams.

Through tailored coaching sessions, participants have gained valuable insights into their leadership styles, improved communication skills, and developed practical tools to navigate complex challenges with confidence.

The programme has not only supported individual growth but has also contributed to a culture of continuous improvement and resilience across the organisation, ensuring leaders are well-equipped to drive Arrow Global’s success.
