Empowering senior leaders to inspire others

Home

Keyloop, the market leader for automotive software, were moving to a new operating model, and wanted to support their leaders to ‘Innovate’, ‘Include’ and ‘Inspire’ by creating a brand-new global senior leadership development programme.

To do so, they needed to determine what made a successful senior leader at Keyloop. Right Management helped them by establishing the personality characteristics, drivers and values that were most critical for success.

Right Management used this profile to assess Keyloop’s existing senior leader population and identify those who had the potential to be a successful leader of the future. This data-driven insight enabled Keyloop to understand individual and collective development needs. Off the back of this, they created a 9-month development programme called ‘Ignite’ to accelerate the growth and adoption of new skills and behaviours within their leadership team.

The solution

Over 70 leaders took part in the ‘Ignite’ programme which Keyloop deemed a real success. The support encompassed:

  • Discover – focus groups, 1:1 interviews, desktop review of internal materials and external research
  • Define – creating a leader success profile based on the required personality dimensions, values and drivers – all mapped to Keyloop’s values and leadership behaviours
  • Assess – assessment process using the Hogan instruments - HPI, MVPI and HDS..
  • Analyse – results presented to the company, focusing on how close (or not) the leaders were to the ideal leader success profile.
  • Develop – creation of a new 9-month development programme called ‘Ignite’, containing six interactive webinars, masterclasses with external speakers, peer coaching, and a business challenge lab.

The impact

  • 95% of participants said the support will improve their ability to be an effective Senior Leader at Keyloop
  • 87% said they acquired new knowledge and skills from the sessions
  • 95% of those who took part said the support was aligned with their development needs

Participants also said the programme enabled them to connect with each other on a peer-to-peer basis and build long-term working relationships, in an environment where they feel psychologically safe to share challenges and concerns. This refined way of working has resulted in improved performance across the board, whereby each leader is now well equipped to work more collaboratively and solve problems as and when they arise.

“The IGNITE programme has been a huge success. As well as the excellent learner feedback, the improvements in people metrics speak for themselves. Amongst this cohort, voluntary attrition has reduced significantly. Employee Engagement increased by +20 NPS points. Their teams’ scores have also improved across management support (+4 NPS), a sense of autonomy and freedom (+3 NPS) and confidence in direction and strategy (+6 NPS).”
